D365 F&O: Introduction
Here I'm using Internet Explorer. One click will take us to the default homepage where we can see all of the.
Built in workspaces. Obviously the user would have access to the system appropriate for their role. We can change this default page by going to our main options.
And here we have some UI colour and size options. We'll go to preferences where we can see other default language date options.
We can change the default legal entity or we can do this anytime through our toolbar here. Now the initial homepage.
Can either be the default dashboard which we've just seen the system admin dashboard employee self service, or the essentials dashboard. Now when we click on the operations tab that will take us to our homepage.
And here we see the essentials dashboard.
This homepage you can personalise depending on your role and responsibilities. It's completely customizable, you choose the workspaces you.
Need the quick.
Links and the business intelligence tiles. You can resize and move everything around.
And add and remove anything that you don't need here.
I'll also mention the task recorder, which we'll explore in another video, but this can be used to record and annotate an operation, then added to a searchable library. It's an excellent way to accelerate training and help users get maximum benefit from the system.
We can also navigate anywhere through the NAV pane on the side. We can bookmark our favourites. Here we have our recently visited pages.
We can go directly to workspaces or directly to any page in any of the modules through the menu.
Here, let's have a look at all projects.
And just like anywhere in the UI, cool elements are completely customizable simply by right clicking an item and personalise.
Now we can.
Move columns around. We can add remove columns.
On the side we have our fact box which we can toggle on and.
Off this allows us to access important information quickly without opening other pages and even access a further level simply by hovering on a field.
And by clicking this link it takes me directly to the page.
Let's go into a project.
And we'll see the fast tabs here, which are so much better than having tabbed pages across the top because we can see all the information in a single view.
The collapsed or expanded state is remembered next time we open the page and we can customise the summary information here.
Simply by right clicking a field and choosing.
Including Fast tab summary.
Also, if we go to the menu on the left, we have swift access to any other project without having to go back to the main list.
And lastly, the workspaces are preset hubs. Let's have a look at budget planning.
That bring together all elements required for particular roles or operations, but every item can still be customised, removed or new elements added. We'll have a look at another one. Let's have a look at customer credit.
And we have some interactive charts where we can Click to drill further down into the data and we also have some.
Giving us quick access.
Without having to open the page.
Overall, it's a really fluid and flexible and very productive user experience, feature rich and extremely customizable.
